Background Information for Ang's GH
The story begins in February 1997, with all of the characters that are
on the General Hospital canvas. With a little fast-forwarding, here is a
little insight into what has happened to them prior to the start of this
story.
The Dorman sexual harassment lawsuit is finally over. Alexis Davis was
able to win for Monica Quartermaine. Monica's reputation was restored.
Alan Quartermaine began to practice to become a surgeon. With Alan going
back to surgery, his wife Monica became the new chief of staff at GH.
Dorman leaves General Hospital and goes to work at Mercy Hospital.
ELQ is running better than ever, under the new CEO A.J. Quartermaine.
Ned Ashton stepped down from the post when his wife Lois Cerullo-Ashton
returned to town with their daughter, Brooke Lynn Ashton. Lois wanted
Ned and "Eddie Maine" back. She got both. Brenda Barrett and Lois
started L&B, their record company, back up and Eddie Maine's leather
pants came out of retirement.
A.J. gave up his position on the city council to Stefan Cassadine. As he
ran ELQ, Edward persisted to worry that A.J. would screw this up, too.
But he hadn't. Keesha Ward, whom A.J. is now officially engaged to, was
right by A.J.'s side. Not only is she the fiancée of ELQ's CEO, she had
become one of Port Charles finest, and Taggert was her partner.
Jason Morgan and Robin Scorpio remained together. Jason continued to
work for Sonny Corinthos, who is still working on winning back Brenda.
Robin came back to town to go to PCU and be back home with Jason. Robin
now volunteers much of her time at the General Hospital Wellness Center.
Emily Quartermaine is confused and alone, yet surrounded. But who should
she choose? Nikolas Cassadine, who she has had a huge crush on since he
arrived, but he is her best friend's arch enemy. Lucky Spencer, her best
friend, the one who took her on the search for her Aunt Corey, but she
worries if she can trust him after the scam his family pulled, faking
Laura's death. Or Matt Reynolds, who thinks she's smart and he listens
to her. While Emily tries to figure it all out, she becomes more
dependent on the drugs that Matt supplies to her.
Justus Ward has taken over the run of the Port Charles Hotel. He decided
to get out of law, after the whole Quartermaine family found out he was
the one who had killed Damian Smith. But not before he got Luke Spencer
off the hook for the Katherine Bell shooting. The Quartermaines decided
that management was the best place for Justus to be.
Tony Jones finally got smart. With Lee Baldwin's help, he got custody of
his son Lucas. Tony then dumped Carly Roberts. Tony moved back into the
Brownstone. And Carly teamed up with Dorman to ruin General Hospital.
Carly to get back at Bobbie and Tony. Pierce to make the Quartermaines'
lives a living hell.
Stefan and Alexis continue their plans to ruin Port Charles. Nikolas
wonders what they are up to, and so does Bobbie. Nikolas is also upset
by the return of his "dead" mother. And so are the other Cassadines.
The Spencers: Luke, Laura, Lucky, Lesley Lu, and Foster return to town.
The town's people turn on the family. The Spencers wonder if anyone will
forgive them. Amy Vining and Ruby Anderson are glad to see the family
has returned, they knew the whole time. Lesley Webber is in Switzerland
getting treatment for her medical condition. The Spencers tell no one
she is alive.
Tom Hardy tells Felicia Jones the truth. Tom continued to help Luke and
try to prove the Cassadines were up to no good. Felicia gets angry and
tells him it's over between the two of them. Felicia becomes interested
in Mac Scorpio, but he finds himself interested in Miranda Jamison. Mac
has dropped the investigation into Katherine's shooting, and decides it
was accidental.
Although Miranda and Jax are divorced, that was just the beginning for
them. After Jax and Brenda argue about the two other people in their
relationship, they questioned whether they should be together. Brenda
continued to live with Jax in the penthouse, while her thoughts were on
Sonny. Sonny continued to protect Brenda from her stalker.
Kevin Collins and Lucy Coe were growing very comfortable living
together. But Lucy's psychic powers told her someone was going to come
between her and her "doc." Alexis Davis, maybe? Kevin considers working
for Stefan Cassadine after the support he gave Kevin during his trial
for stalking Felicia.
After several visits from the man in black (Stefan), Katherine began
walking. She was so grateful that she offered him a job at Deception.
Then, he revealed his true identity and offered her the job as head of
Public Relations for Cassadine Industries. She accepted and sold Stefan
Deception.
Gina Williams (Cates; Stone and Jagger's sister) continued to volunteer
at the hospital, to be around Nikolas. Robin and Gina finally made
peace. After watching Bobbie with a sick young boy, who reminded her of
Stone when he was little, Gina decided she wanted to become a nurse.
Audrey Hardy was excited to fill the position Carly had left in the
nurse's program. Bobbie finally had someone who looked up to her a role
model.
Part 1
Scene 1-Pierce is cleaning out his office at GH. Alan walks by and
notices Pierce.
A: Ah, I see you are finally leaving.
P: Yes, I am.
A: Let me say that I won't be sorry to see you go.
Pierce throws his stuff into a box and picks the box up. Then, Pierce
turns around towards Alan.
P: Dr. Quartermaine.
A: Yes?
P: Look, I'm leaving. But this still isn't over. It isn't over 'til I
say it's over.
Pierce leaves the now-vacant office. Alan flashes back to hearing
Pierce say those same words in court.
A: (To himself.) Oh, I'll tell you when it's over.
Scene 2-Pierce is carrying his box out of GH, and he stops at the nurses
station. Pierce sees Monica and walks over to her.
P: Well, hello Monica.
M: Pierce, weren't you leaving?
P: Yes, but how could I leave this hospital without saying goodbye to
you, Monica?
Monica looks uncomfortable. Bobbie walks up behind and happens to
overhear the conversation.
M: Well, Pierce, I'll be glad to see you gone.
P: Right, Monica. (He sees Bobbie. Monica walks off.) Hi Nurse, let's
see, what's your last name, now? Oh, that's right, you married Mr.
Stefan Cassadine, right after you divorced Dr. Jones.
B: Yes, that's right. What are you still doing here?
P: Cleaning out my office.
B: I think you came back to torture.
P: Now, why would I do that?
B: Because you are a sick S.O.B.
Pierce grabs her arm.
P: Now, Mrs. Cassadine. I don't think you should talk like that.
Total horror comes over Bobbie's face. The elevator door opens, Tony
comes out and sees Pierce with a hold on Bobbie's arm.
Part 2
Scene 1-Luke is at home on the telephone to Tom, who is at a clinic in
Switzerland with Lesley.
L: How is she doing?
T: We still haven't found out what Cassadine was doing to her. Or what
the hell he gave her. She is about the same.
Laura comes down the stairs and sees Luke on the telephone.
L: Tom Hardy.
Laura: How is my mother doing?
L: (To Laura.) Same. (Laura looks disappointed.) What can we do, Tom?
T: Well, it seems like Laura is the only one who can get through to
Lesley, maybe she should come to Switzerland, maybe that would help.
Right now, it looks like our only hope.
Scene 2-At the lighthouse, Lucy is sitting at the table eating lunch,
when Kevin walks in.
L: Hi doc. How was your session with Gail?
Kevin walks to her and kisses her on the cheek.
K: Pretty good. I think we are making some real progress. Oh, and on
the way out I ran into Stefan.
L: Oh, and what did Stefan want?
K: He wanted the two of us to come to Wyndemere for dinner tonight to
discuss the possibility of my going to work for him.
L: Oh really...Well, there's absolutely no way that I'm going out to
that godforsaken island to have dinner with Bobbie and "Darth Vader."
(Kevin laughs.) And Alexis! I just wonder sometimes, if Luke is right
about them. Maybe Luke is? Why would he have gone to all that trouble
to make Stefan believe that Laura was dead? And then, of course,
there's all that Cassadine history. They kidnapped Laura and they even
tried to freeze the world. (Kevin laughs, again.) Hey, it's
true...they did, it does seem kind of ridiculous, though doesn't it?
Yes...anyways, doc, are you really going to consider taking that job?
K: Actually, yes.
L: But doc...
K: I still have my career chip to use.
L: Ok, ok, but I am not going out to that island to have dinner with the
Cassadines.
K: Lucy, I seem to recall where I had to go to Luke's with you...
L: Ok, I'll do it. For you, Kevin.
Kevin and Lucy kiss.
Scene 3-Emily and Lucky are at school, standing next to Emily's locker.
E: Lucky, I think what you did was wrong. What would the Cassadines
want to do to your family? I mean Nikolas is SO nice.
L: You know Nikolas?
E: Yeah, he volunteers at the hospital. We're friends. (She remembers
the scene where Nikolas helped her through Page's birthday.) He is a
good and carrying person. And his cousin, Alexis, helped Monica with
the Dorman thing. Not to mention, Stefan saved the hospital. Frankly,
we should all be grateful to that family. What's so terrible about
everything they have done for this town?
L: Trust me, Emily. The Cassadines are out for revenge. They're evil. I
don't care if Nikolas is my mom's son, he is still the enemy.
E: What?
L: Long story...but his uncle is out for revenge. Revenge for his
brother, Stavros' death.
E: You mean, your father killed him?
L: No, no...he took a header down the stairs...it was an accident.
Emily opens her locker and throws some books in it.
E: Lucky, this sounds like this is your father and Stefan's problem, not
yours or Nikolas'.
L: Emily, you don't get it. This is a feud. It goes back to when the
Cassadines tried to freeze the world.
E: Freeze the world, ha, like I would believe something crazy like that.
That only happens on TV or in the movies, Lucky, this is real life. Not
some video game!
L: It's true! They also kidnapped my mother and Stavros forced her to
bare the Cassadine heir. They also killed my grandmother. And I'm sure
there's much more where that came from.
E: Ok, I get it. It's a feud. What I don't get is why my best friend
let me believe his mother was dead. Lucky, you could have told me, you
could have. I wouldn't have told the Cassadines...you could have told
me, but you didn't... and I'm not sure I can believe anything you ever
tell me again.
Emily slams her locker shut. Upset, Emily walks off, leaving Lucky
standing alone.
L: Emily! Emily! (Emily ignores him. Lucky punches the locker door.)
Damn!
Scene 4-At the Outback, Mac and Felicia are talking up at the bar.
M: So, how were the numbers for last night?
F: Oh, the numbers... (Felicia looks at the register tape.) They were
pretty good, we've had better nights, though.
Felicia stares into outer space.
M: Earth to Felicia. Ok, what's wrong?
F: I was thinking about how Tom lied to me. We were very close. I mean
if he could have lied to me. Who am I (Robin comes in.) supposed to
trust?
Robin takes off her coat and hangs it up. Robin walks over to Mac and
Felicia.
R: You can trust me.
F: Oh, hi Robin.
M: Robin, what a nice surprise.
R: Well, I came by for some lunch.
F: I'm surprised that you and Jason didn't go to Luke's for lunch.
R: Jason had to run some errands.
M: For Sonny?
R: Uncle Mac!
M: I'm sorry...I still can't believe that Jason and Sonny didn't let you
know that Laura was alive.
R: Look, Uncle Mac, they were protecting me.
M: From what? The evil Cassadines?
R: Yes.
F: So, you believe what Luke says?
R: Of course, why would he lie about something like this?
Jax comes in.
J: Hi. I'm here...
F: To see Miranda.
M: Well, Robin, I'll go get you some lunch.
Mac goes to the kitchen, ignoring Jax.
F: (To Jax.) Upstairs.
R: Hi Jax.
J: Hi.
Jax goes upstairs.
R: What's he want to see Miranda for?
F: I don't know, but if Brenda really loves Jax, she ought to be
worried. Since the two of them have been divorced they have been having
an awful lot of these little meetings all over town.
Scene 5-Jax knocks on Miranda's apartment door.
M: Who is it?
J: Me.
M: Me, who?
J: It's Jax.
M: Oh, ok. (Miranda opens the door and Jax comes in.) What brings you
by?
J: You invited me.
M: Right, well, come in and take your coat off.
Jax takes his coat off and sits on the couch.
J: So, why did you invite me?
M: I have to tell you something.
J: What is it?
M: I'm...I lo...I'm a Ca...
Then, the power goes out in her apartment and at the Outback.
Part 3
Scene 1-Alexis and Stefan are in a secret room at Wyndemere.
S: The plans to bring this town to its knees are going perfectly. With
my saving the hospital, being on the city council, marrying Barbara, and
bringing Nikolas to town to save Lasha's daughter, no one could possibly
think that I am behind what is about to unfold. Well, except for
Spencer. It's a shame that those charges didn't stick.
A: Yes, it is.
S: But no one in this town will ever trust him, not after what he did.
The town is thinking they are paranoid, but they are wrong.
A: So, how long before we call Port Charles history?
S: I'm not sure, but I see the end near.
Scene 2-Katherine comes to visit the Cassadines at Wyndemere. Katherine
is greeted at the front door by Nikolas.
N: Katherine, come in.
Katherine comes in and takes off her coat, Nikolas takes it and hangs it
up.
K: Hello Nikolas, I came to see your uncle.
N: Ok, let me go get him for you.
K: Wait! I want to talk to you for a second. So, how are you doing now
that your mother is back?
N: To be honest, I do not want a DAMN thing to do with that woman who
calls herself my mother! (Calming down some.) Now, let me go see where
my uncle is. You are welcome to sit down.
Katherine looks worried, as Nikolas goes to finds Stefan. He finds
Stefan and overhears what Stefan and Alexis are talking about.
S: Yes, this time, this time, will be the end of the Spencers and Port
Charles. If I can't have Lasha, no one can.
Nikolas wonders what Stefan has planned.
Scene 3-Jason is knocking at Carly's apartment door.
C: Just a minute. (She opens the door.) Jason, thank you for coming
over.
J: No problem. (Jason stands there stiff, Carly invites him to come in
and sit down. Jason sits on the couch.) So, what do you need?
C: Jason, I need, um, can I borrow some money, just a loan...
J: Sure, but what about Dr. Jones?
C: We broke up.
J: So, what are you doing?
C: Nothing right now. I am thinking about going to work at Mercy.
J: Mercy Hospital?
C: Yeah, why?
J: Maybe you could do some fishing for me.
C: What?
J: If you go to work there, maybe you can get me some information on
someone who use to work there.
C: For who? Your boss?
J: No! For me!
C: Ok, ok, maybe if I get a job there. Who is this mystery person that
you want information on?
J: Marilyn Cooper.
Scene 4-A.J., Keesha, Justus, Edward, Ned, Lois, and Brenda are at the
Port Charles Grill ready to discuss the plans for A.J. and Keesha's
impending wedding.
E: A.J., tell me how that deal with the German pharmaceutical company is
going.
A: Good, we should be able to sign off with them soon.
K: Ok, enough business. This lunch is supposed to be about planning our
wedding.
N: (Sarcastic.) Yes, grandfather, this about the much awaited wedding
of Keesha and Junior.
A.J. glares at Ned.
E: Ok, ok. But I don't understand why we don't just hire Katherine
Bell, she did a wonderful job with Jax and Brenda's wed... whatever the
hell it was.
B: You mean that fiasco.
L: Mr. Q, why don't we order lunch first?
J: Yes, Edward, I'm kind of hungry.
E: We'll order in a few minutes... I think we should talk about the
guest list.
Sonny comes wandering into the restaurant and plants himself at a table
directly across from the group.
Scene 5-A Continuation from the previous scene. Lois makes Brenda aware
of the presence of Sonny.
B: Will you excuse me?
L: Sure.
E: Yes, why don't you go over there and see your mobster boyfriend.
Brenda makes a bee line to Sonny's table, not hearing Edward's comments.
L: Mr. Q!
N: Ok, now can we get back to the subject at hand?
A: Yes, please.
E: Ok, the guest list... we should invite all of the...
A: Grandfather, this wedding has nothing to do with ELQ business.
E: It most certainly does!
A: No, it doesn't. So, if you don't mind, I think I will leave, because
I don't want to hear about the business associates I should invite to MY
wedding.
A.J. and Keesha leave.
J: (Sarcastic.) Well, Edward, it's been lovely. We really must do this
again.
Justus leaves.
L: Well, Mr. Q it appears as though this lunch is over.
N: Yes, it does.
Lois and Ned get up.
L: (To Edward.) Bye.
N: Grandfather.
Ned and Lois leave a flustered Edward at the table alone.
Part 4
Scene 1-Brenda goes over to Sonny's table at the Port Charles Grill.
S: Hi Brenda.
B: Sonny. (Sonny and Brenda smile at each other.) So, what are you
doing here?
S: Jason and I are meeting here, and you?
B: Well, (She turns to the table where the Quartermaines were, but they
have all left.) I was having lunch with the Quartermaines.
S: It looks like they left. Well, I guess you could always have lunch
with me...and Jason, if you don't think Jaxy boy would mind.
B: Hmmm...well, that sounds good.
Scene 2-Harry is standing at Lily's grave.
H: Lily, that Brenda is going to pay. And, so is Sonny. If it weren't
for those two, you'd be alive. Sonny used you, and now he's going to
pay.
Harry pulls out Sonny's wedding ring that Sonny had buried in the snow.
Harry holds the ring and stares in wonder.
Scene 3-At GH, Dorman has Bobbie by the arm, when Tony comes off the
elevator. Tony goes directly to Pierce and Bobbie. Pierce drops
Bobbie's arm.
T: Excuse me, what the HELL do you think you are doing?
P: Oh, hi Dr. Jones. I was just leaving.
T: Really? Well, maybe you should do that Dorman. (Pierce takes off.)
What happened? Are you ok? Did he hurt you?
B: Yes, I'm fine. Tony... I'll be alright. It's a long story as to
what happened. I'm going to the cafeteria. I could really use a cup of
coffee right now, so excuse me.
Bobbie tries to leave, but Tony stops her.
T: No, not until you tell me what happened.
Scene 4-At Kelly's, Ned and Lois have just eaten lunch. When Dorman
makes his way in. He walks by the Ashtons with a smirk. Pierce goes to
the counter to order his lunch.
N: I can't believe it.
L: What?
N: Him!
Ned points to Pierce, Lois turns to see who he is pointing at.
L: It's a public place, you know.
N: I realize that. But, I can not believe that man has the nerve to show
his face in this town, after all that he has done to Monica and MY
family.
Ned gets up from the table.
L: Ned! Ned, what are you doing?
Ned walks to Pierce, as Lois watches.
N: Dr. Dorman.
P: Yes, and you are? Oh yes, one of those pesky Quartermaines. Well,
what can I do for you Quartermaine?
N: Yes, I am a Quartermaine. But, the name is Ashton, Ned Ashton. And I
what I would like for you to do Dr. Dorman is leave Port Charles.
P: I don't think so.
N: What's left for you in this town?
P: I don't believe that's any of your business.
N: If your presence is harming MY family and MY company, it is.
Ned gets up, leaves his money on his table, takes Lois and leaves.
Pierce watches.
Scene 5-At the GH cafeteria, Alan and Monica are drinking coffee, when
Alan notices that Tony and Bobbie came in together.
A: Hmmm...
M: What?
A: Tony and Bobbie just came in together.
M: Really?
A: See for yourself.
Monica turns to see Tony and Bobbie sitting at a table.
T: What was that scene with Dorman about?
B: He was talking to Monica, and saw me, she left, and he began talking
to me. He egged me on, so I gave him my two cents worth... and that's
when he grabbed my arm.
T: That jerk! I am so glad he isn't on staff anymore. I don't think I
could go another day without killing him.
B: Look, Tony, I'm fine.
T: Are you sure?
B: Yes, I am. Now, if you'll excuse me. I think I will go over there
and visit with Monica before I have to go back on duty.
T: Sure.
Tony thinks of what he might do to Dorman, if he ever got his hands on
him. Bobbie goes to Monica.
B: Hi Monica.
M: Bobbie.
A: Well, I'll leave you two alone.
M: Ok, I'll see you at home tonight.
A: You can count on it. (Alan kisses Monica on the cheek. Alan goes to
Tony and sits down.) Tony.
T: Hi Alan.
A: So what were the two of you talking about?
T: Me and Bobbie?
A: Yes, good things, I hope.
T: Sorry, pal. There was nothing good about it. We were talking about
Pierce Dorman.
Alan is shocked.
Part 5
Scene 1-Sonny and Brenda have just finished their lunch at the Port
Charles Grill.
S: I wonder where the heck Jason is... He should have been here over an
hour ago.
B: I'm sure he's alright. Too bad he missed lunch.
S: Yeah, (He smiles.) It was delicious.
B: Yeah, it was.
Sonny and Brenda smile at each other. Jason comes running in and sits
down.
S: Jason where have you been? (He looks at his watch.) It's two. You
were supposed to be here over an hour ago.
J: I know, I know. But, I've found someone who can help us.
B: Help with what?
J: The Marilyn Cooper mystery.
Brenda looks at Sonny.
Scene 2-Luke is at home, reading over some papers. Lucky walks in.
Luke: Well, cowboy, what's new?
Lucky: Not much. Emily is still mad at me.
Luke: Lucky she'll come around. She'll understand, just give her some
time.
Lucky: I hope so, dad... Really. But, right now, she doesn't. In fact,
she's friends with Nikolas.
Laura walks down the stairs with suitcase in hand, having overheard the
conversation.
Laura: Well, at least he has one friend.
Lucky looks up and sees the suitcases.
Lucky: What's up mom?
Luke: Your mother is going to Switzerland.
Lucky: For what?
Laura: My mother.
Lucky: Ok.
Luke: Your mom's going to take Lulu with her. We can't let anyone know
where she is going, just that she's going out of town.
Lucky: Ok, I think I can handle that, I handled the whole death thing.
This should be a piece of cake.
Luke: Good and this time, this time you can improvise, as long as you
keep your story straight, don't go too far, and let me know what you're
telling people, cowboy.
Lucky: Yes, sir.
Laura: Well, I'm going to miss the two of you.
Luke: And angel, we're going to miss you, too.
Lucky: And Lulu.
Laura: Well, I better go get her and then we'll be on our way.
Laura goes back upstairs to get Lesley Lu.
Scene 3-Katherine and Stefan are at Wyndemere, a few hours later.
K: I'm ready for a change. I'd be glad to help. And at this point, I'd
be glad to leave here and glad to see the last of the Spencers.
S: Well, I'm glad to hear that.
Nikolas comes to the door and hears part of the conversation.
K: So, I'm willing to help you in anyway I can.
S: Well, I think we definitely have made some progress. (He sees
Nikolas.) Ah, Nikolas.
N: I just came in to tell you that Dr. Collins called and said that he
and Ms. Coe would be joining us for dinner.
S: Good.
K: Well, I really must be going before Lucy gets here.
N: Bye.
S: Goodbye, Ms. Bell.
K: Goodbye.
Katherine leaves Wyndemere.
N: What was that about?
Scene 4-The power at the Outback comes back on. Felicia and Mac are
talking.
F: Well, finally they fixed the power.
M: Yeah, did Jax leave, yet?
F: I don't think so. I'm going to go up and see if everything alright
up there.
M: Ok.
Felicia goes upstairs and knocks on Miranda's door.
Miranda: Yes.
F: It's Felicia. Is your power back on?
Miranda opens the door to her apartment.
Miranda: Yes, it is. Come in.
Felicia comes in and see Jax sitting on the couch.
J: Hello Felicia. Well, Miranda, I have a business appointment, so I
must be going. Maybe you can tell me what you wanted to the next time,
as long as the power doesn't go out again. (He gets up from the couch.)
Bye.
Jax walks out the door of the apartment.
F: What were you going to tell him?
Miranda: That I am... I love him.
Scene 5-Lucy and Kevin go out to Spoon Island for dinner with the
Cassadines. Kevin knocks on the door.
L: Geez, doc, this is creepy... I mean this fog and this island, it
really gives me the creeps. If I see a bat or any other creatures of
the night, I'm gone doc, I mean it, I will leave.
K: Lucy.
Lucy and Kevin are greeted by Stefan.
S: Dr. Collins, Ms. Coe.
Kevin and Lucy walk in and take their coats off, Stefan takes them and
hangs the coats up. Kevin, Lucy, and Stefan walk to the main room and
sit. Bobbie comes in.
B: Kevin, Lucy.
K: Hello Bobbie.
L: Hi.
B: Mrs. Landsberry is putting the finishing touches on dinner, it should
be ready soon.
S: Where are Nikolas and Alexis?
B: Nikolas seems a little upset. He said he wouldn't be joining us for
dinner tonight. I haven't seen Alexis this evening. When I came home
from GH, she was on her way out.
S: She must be out on that little errand I set her out on.
B: GH business?
S: Yes, hospital business.
Mrs. Landsberry comes in.
Landsberry: Dinner is ready.
L: (She whispers to Kevin.) Well, this should be interesting.
