Part 77

Scene 1-Nikolas and Gina are sitting at a table at Kelly's.

G: I wasn't around when he died. I treated him really awful and now I

can't make it up to him.

N: You know what?

G: What?

N: After what you just said about your brother, it makes me realize I

really should give Lucky and my mother a chance.

Scene 2-The man and thirteen-year-old from the airport are at the Port

Charles Hotel. The man goes to the front desk.

Front Desk: Can I help you sir?

Man: Yes, my girlfriend, Dr. Angela Winters was supposed to leave me

keys for our room.

F: Your name?

M: Paul Simmons.

Scene 3-Alexis' cell phone rings.

A: Hello... ok, if I see him, I'll tell him you are looking for him...

Stefan, are you going to tell him?

Scene 4-Lucy walks into the lighthouse.

L: Hi Doc! What do you feel like for dinner? I'll order it right up.

Kevin is on the telephone.

K: Lucy, it's Scott.

Lucy walks over to get the telephone.

L: Yeah.

S: ELQ board meeting tonight.

L: About what?

S: I'm not sure, are you going to be able to make it?

L: I'll be there. When?

S: Eight.

Scene 5-Lucky is outside the Spencer house. Sly walks up.

L: Hi Sly.

S: Wanna go swimming?

L: Nah.

S: What's wrong?

L: Sly, you ever feel like you've been kicked in the gut and left

without help?

S: What?

Scene 6-Mac and Felicia are at the Port Charles Grill. There are two

glasses of champagne in front of them.

M: (Clinking his glass to Felicia's.) You saved me.

F: Ah, it was nothing.

M: No, it was something.

Mac leans across the table and kisses Felicia.

Scene 7-Edward, Lila, Alan, Monica, Emily, A.J., Ned, Lois, Justus,

Scott, Lucy, Serena, and Jax are at the Quartermaine mansion in the

living room.

Edward: Good, everyone's here.

Scott: Yes, Edward, we are. What's this about? Are we trying to replace

Ned as CEO, again?

Edward: No, but, actually, I'll let Ned do the honors.

N: Ok, tonight, we have two issues on the agenda. The first is the

purchase of the Port Charles Pelicans hockey team from the Barrington

family.

Serena: (Whispers to Scott.) We could own part of a hockey team?

Lucy: (Whispering.) Would you like that?

Serena: Yeah, that would be cool.

N: Grandfather and I have looked at the books and it is a very

profitable and promising investment. Here are some copies of the figures

from the last season. (Hands them out.)

Jax: Wow! This looks like a very good investment.

N: Yes, and with a little more marketing it could be a gold mine.

A.J.: Ned, you really think a minor league team could be a gold mine?

Alan: A.J., in a town this size, we're not going to attract a major

league franchise.

A.J.: But dad, minor league franchises fold all of the time.

Edward: True, but we won't let it.

N: Are we ready for a vote?

Scene 8-The ELQ board is meeting at the Quartermaine mansion.

Lila: Ok. For the votes on the purchase of the Port Charles Pelican

hockey team. (Lila goes through the list of names, Ned-Yea, Scott-Yea,

Lucy-Yea, Jax-Yea, Alan-Yea.)

N: I'd say that seals it.

Lois: Ned, I know that I don't know much about how ELQ runs, but don't

you have to take everyone's vote?

Justus: She's right, Ned.

N: Oh, ok.

Lila: Alan Quartermaine, Jr.?

A.J.: I'll have to say neigh, I realize my position's already been

defeated, but I wasn't letting this go down without my saying something.

N: (Clapping.) Bravo, Junior. (With that Ned sarcasm.) Wonderful speech.

A.J.: Ned, just remember, you can be replaced at any time.

Edward: Ok, why don't we finish the voting.

They finish the voting with Edward, Lila, and Monica all "Yeas."

Scott: Ok, Ned, what's this second matter you were talking about?

Scene 9-At the Port Charles Hotel, Nicole and Paul are in a hotel room.

P: I really think you'll like this town.

N: I don't think so. I don't know anyone and all my friends are back in

Kansas City.

P: Hey, I'm going through the same thing. You just need to adjust.

The door opens, it is Angela.

A: Paul, Nicole.

N: Mom!

Nicole hugs Angela.

P: Hi honey.

Paul grabs Angela and kisses her.

N: Thank god I have my own room in this suite.

Scene 10-The ELQ board is meeting at the Quartermaine mansion.

N: The second matter on the agenda is a trust of stock for Emily, that

she would take control of on the event of her eighteenth birthday.

Scott, Lucy, Jax; this is more of a family issue, so if you'd like to

leave you're more than welcome to.

Lucy: Actually, I'd like to participate. In some quirky way, I feel like

I'm still part of this family.

A.J.: (Staring at Lucy's legs.) For some quirky reason, I wish you

hadn't said that, Lucy.

M: A.J.

Scott: Serena and I'll stay.

Jax: I'm staying, too.

N: Ok, the proposal is to have each stock holder, who is willing to, put

one percent of stock in trust for Emily.

Lila: (Ned says "Yea.") Scott Baldwin?

Scott: I don't know Emily that well, in fact, I believe this is the

first time we've met.

Emily: Yes, it is, Mr. Baldwin.

Scott: Please, call me Scott. But, I've heard so much about you and your

courage. I'd gladly give one percent of my stock to you. Yea.

Lila: Lucy Coe?

Lucy: (Smiles at Emily.) Yea.

Lila: Jasper Jacks?

Jax: I have one question, while this stock is in trust, will it be voted

and by whom?

N: Alan and Monica will vote the stock. And, in the event they can not

reach an agreement, the vote will go to the CEO.

Jax: I'd say that's reasonable. Yea.

The rest of the family says "Yea."

N: Well, kiddo. You're an ELQ stockholder.

Lois: God help you.

Part 78

I've included the interns in this, because I am planning on including

Katherine: So, when are you going to tell him?

S: I can't tell him. It is forbidden. And, the two of you must

understand that.

Table 2-Emily's staring at Lucky, as he stares back.

A.J.: You know, I can't believe I let Lucy talk me into this act.

Monica: I can.

Alan: Lucy has that power over people.

Edward: Yes, and you would be the one to know, wouldn't you?

Lila: Edward!

Carly: A.J., what are they talking about?

A.J.: Oh, just the fact that my wonderful father here was married to Ms.

Coe.

C: You're kidding.

M: We only wish.

Table 3-

Luke: So this Jeff that Sonny was talking about was Jeff Webber?

Steve: Yep.

Rick: Well, it's about time that I got to meet my nephew. So, when is my

brother coming back?

S: Soon. (Notices Lucky staring across the room at Emily.) You and Emily

an item?

Lucky: (Just hearing the end of that.) What?

Lesley: He asked if you and Emily were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Lucky: (Still staring.) Um, yeah.

S: Wow! I wish she told me she had a thing for my cousin.

Lucky: What are you talking about?

S: I used to live next door to Emily in Arizona. We were and are

friends.

Table 4-

Kevin: Serena, I think you'll enjoy this night. It's full of

entertainment.

Mac: And Lucy is the best at it.

Scott: She sing? Dance?

K: No. Not exactly.

Table 5-

Lois: So, you sing Angela?

Angela: Yeah, practically all my life. Back in boarding school, I sang

all the time.

Ned: This isn't the first time we've sung together, we were in a group

back in boarding school.

Nicole: My mom's the best singer.

L: What about your father, what happened to him?

A: Um, Nicole's father died when she was very young.

L: Oh, I'm sorry.

Ned: (Trying to change the subject.) So, Paul, I understand you play

hockey. My family is just getting ready to acquire the local team.

Paul: Really? Well, I'd love to be able to play here. I hear it's a

great organization.

Ned: Yes, and we are going to do everything to improve it.

Table 6-

Chris: So, when does this shoe get on the road?

Eve: Hopefully soon. The sooner, the better, I can't stand to be sitting

here with you.

C: Well, it's no picnic sitting next to you either.

Julie: Could you two just keep quiet for fifteen seconds!

C: Julie, I will.

Julie: Thank you, Dr. Ramsey.

C: Well, you're welcome, Dr. Morris.

E: Hey, isn't that (Looks at the Quartermaine table.) the woman who

killed that Dr. Dorman guy?

Karen: Doctor who?

Joe: Dorman. He was a doctor at GH. He sued Monica Quartermaine for

sexual harassment.

K: That's crazy!

Julie: No, he's right, I heard about that when I came to town. I also

heard he had his fingers in the drug dealing going on here.

C: Well, if I had to sleep with Monica Quartermaine to be on staff at

GH, I would.

E: (Hits Chris.) You pig!

Julie: Come on!

Table 7-

Brenda: (Looking at the interns' table.) Hey, isn't that?

Gina: Oh my.

Nikolas: Who is it?

G: Come on, I'll introduce you to my sister-in-law.

Nikolas and Gina leave.

Robin: She's an intern at the hospital.

Jason: Who?

R: (Points Karen out to Jason.) Her, Karen Wexler-Cates.

J: My old girlfriend, right?

Sonny: Yep.

Mike: Well, I think it's about time to start.

Scene 2-Justus, Luke, Mac, Scott, and Kevin have there back turned to

the audience. All five of them are wearing purple suits. The music

begins: The Temptations, "Get Ready." Justus, Kevin, and Mac are all

stiff. Luke and Scott are bee-bopping around.

Lyrics:

Luke: (Turns around, suddenly.) I never met a girl that makes me feel

the way that you do

All: (All turn around.) You're alright

Luke: I never have asked who makes my love real

Justus: So, fee figh foo fum, look out baby, 'cause her I come and I'm

Kevin: I hope I get to you before they do, the way I planned it

All: Out of sight

Justus: Twiddly dee, Twiddly dumb look out baby 'cause here I come and

I'm bringing you a love that's true

All: So get ready So get ready

Scott: I'm going to try to make you love me too

All: So get ready So get ready Get ready 'cause here I come Get ready

'cause here I come I'm on my way

There's intense applause. Lucy comes out in a blue gown, it looks

fabulous.

Lucy: Well, wasn't that terrific. Let's hear it for Justus Ward, Luke

Spencer, Mac Scorpio, Scott Baldwin, and Kevin Collins. (More applause.)

That was terrific and the perfect way to get ready for the fourth annual

General Hospital nurses ball. Welcome. Now, while you're enjoying your

dinners feel free to go out there and bid on the items on the silent

auction block or buy some raffle tickets. And please, enjoy your dinner.

Table 1-

Alexis: Well, that was... Good.

Amy: No kidding.

Stefan: Yes, very entertaining.

Tom: A good way to start, wouldn't you say?

Table 3-

Lesley: Luke isn't a half bad singer.

Laura: I guess not.

Steve: Yeah. What did you think Lucky?

Lucky's staring at Emily in a trance.

Rick: Lucky.

Lucky: What?

Table 5-

Ned: Um, Nicole, I'll have to introduce you to my cousin Emily, later.

She's around your age. I'm sure she'd love to meet you.

Angela: See Nicole, you can make friends here.

Lois: Yeah, and Emily'd probably show you around town.

Nicole: Where's this Emily?

Ned: (Points out Emily.) That's Emily.

Nicole looks at Emily, who's staring at Lucky. Then, Nicole looks at

Lucky.

Nicole: Who is that guy?

Jax leaves.

A: What guy?

Nicole: (Points at Lucky.) That guy.

L: That's Lucky Spencer.

Ned: Emily's, um, boyfriend, I guess.

Table 7-

Nikolas: Psh... Luke Spencer.

Gina: Excuse me.

Gina gets up and walks out to the hall. Robin and Brenda follow.

Sonny: Look, the only reason, we re letting you sit at this table is

Gina. So, you better keep your mouth shut.

N: (Sarcastic.) Yes, sir.

In the hall: Brenda, Gina, and Robin are at Stone's quilt panel.

G: (Crying.) I wish he were here. I wish I hadn't been so terrible to

him.

Robin: (Hugs Gina.) Hey, it's ok. He knew you loved him and he loved

you.

Brenda: Stone's here, maybe not physically, but his spirit is here and

it will always be with you, Robin, me, Sonny, and everyone else who

loved him.

Scene 3-After the dinner.

Lucy: Now for six very talented, and very handsome guys: Dr. Tom Hardy,

A.J. Quartermaine, Jax, Lucky Spencer, Jason Morgan, and Nikolas

Cassadine, with their rendition of the Village People's YMCA.

Tom's the bare chested Indian. A.J.'s the cop. Jax is the biker. Lucky

is the cowboy. Jason is the construction worker. Nikolas is the sailor.

A.J., Tom, and Lucky are really into it. Nikolas, Jason, and Jax are

stiff. Every time the letters YMCA are sung, they form them with there

bodies.

Lyrics:

A.J.: Young man There's no need to feel down

Nikolas: I said young man pick your self off the ground (Grimacing

Stefan.) I said young man cause you're in a new town There's no need to

be unhappy (Luke smiles.)

Lucky: Young man There's a place you can go I said young man when you're

short on your dough You can stay there and I'm sure you'll find many

ways to have a good time

All: It's fun to stay at the YMCA It's fun to stay at the YMCA

Tom: They have everything a young man can enjoy you can hang out with

all of the boys (Alexis laughs.)

All: It's fun to stay at the YMCA It's fun to stay at the YMCA

Jax: They have everything for a young man to enjoy You can hang out with

all of the boys (Brenda and Sonny laugh hysterically.)

All: It's fun to stay at the YMCA It's fun to stay at the YMCA

Jason: You can get yourself clean You can have a good meal You can do

whatever you feel (Robin laughs.)

A.J.: Young man, are you listening to me I said young man what do you

want to be? (Alan and Monica laugh.) I said young man, you can make real

your dreams (Grimacing Edward.) But you've got to know this one thing

Nikolas: No man does it all by himself Put your pride on the shelf And

just go there To the YMCA I'm sure they can help you today

All: It's fun to stay at the YMCA It's fun to stay at the YMCA

Lucky: They have everything for young men to enjoy You can hang out with

all of the boys

Jax: Young man I was once in your shoes I said I was down and out with

the blues I felt that no man work a lot I felt the world was so jive

A.J.: That's when someone came up to me And said young man Talk a walk

up the street It's a place there called the YMCA

Jason: They can start you back on your way

All: It's fun to stay at the YMCA It's fun to stay at the YMCA

Nikolas: YMCA, it's fun to stay at the YMCA, young man, young man

there's no need to feel down

Jax: Young man, young man pick yourself off the ground

All: And just go there

There's intense applause.

Table 2-

Justus: Well, at least, I didn't make a complete full out of myself.

Carly: I think you were great. But, I really don't AJ made a complete

full of himself.

Table 4-

Scott: What did you think of me up there on stage, Serena?

Serena: You and that guy with the really short blond hair were funny.

Scott: Well, thank you.

Serena: Who was that guy?

Mac: Luke Spencer.

Serena: Daddy, is he one of your friends?

Scott: Not exactly.

Lee: Serena, what do you think of the ball so far?

Serena: It's funny.

Gail: Scott, Karen is over there at that table. (Points at the interns'

table.)

Serena: Who's Karen?

Scott looks over.

Scott: (Points in Karen's direction.) She's your big sister. Let's go

see her?

Serena: I didn't know I had a sister.

Scott: Well, you do. She had a different mom, but she's my daughter,

which makes her your sister. Come on.

Scott and Serena leave.

Table 6-Scott and Serena come over.

Scott: Karen.

Karen: Oh my god! Scott.

Scott and Karen hug.

Scott: Karen, I have someone for you to meet, this is your sister,

Serena.

K: Serena! Hi.

Karen and Serena hug.

Serena: You're my big sister?

K: Yeah.

Scott: I noticed you were here and thought I'd at least come over and

say hi. Um, what do you say the three of us go to lunch tomorrow?

K: Um, sure, I don't have to be at the hospital until 4.

Scott: That's great, we'll pick you up at eleven and go to lunch. Are

you staying at your mom's?

K: Yeah, for right now.

Scott: Ok, we'll see you then. Bye.

K: Bye Serena.

Serena: Bye Karen.

Scott and Serena leave.

Eve: Well, Dr. Wexler-Cates, you seem to have a lot of connections in

this town. I mean the Baldwins are a pretty prominent family, and you're

one of them?

K: Scott Baldwin's my father. But, I've never used being his daughter as

an advantage. In fact, I didn't find out he was my father until I left

town. Why am I telling you this? I don't owe you anything.

Karen leaves.

Joe: Eve, put a sock in it.

Joe goes after Karen.

Chris: Beautiful work.

Jake: Trying to clear the table?

Scene 4-Lucy comes out to introduce the next act. Everyone applauds.

Lucy: Thank you, thank you very much. It's my pleasure to introduce the

newest doctor at General Hospital, Dr. Angela Winters. She's teaming up

with Dr. Mark Butler, and Ned Ashton, to sing a song that really speaks

to this cause. The song is called "Just Like You."

Dr. Butler's a short man, about thirty-five, with brown hair.

Lyrics:

Ned: Hello my friend It's been a while All of our old clothes are back

in style We went our separate ways Only to return To face the lesson We

failed to learn

Angela: We didn't understand the truth We were blinded by the eyes of

youth And time kept moving And a change has come And you think that I

don't know where you're coming from

Dr. Butler: Well I feel just like you And I cry just like you I heal

like you And under my skin I'm just like you

Ned: You gave your love and your innocence

Angela: And they took away you confidence I'm not those women

Dr. Butler: And I'm not those men Put your arms around me

All: I am your friend

Ned: 'Cause I feel just like you And I cry just like you But I heal just

like you And under my skin I'm just like you

Angela: And everybody else When I get hurt I cry for help And I've got

secrets that God only knows And God knows I feel just like you

Dr. Butler: And I cry just like you I heal just like you I break down

just like you I feel just like you And I cry just like you

Ned: But I'm weak just like you And under my skin I'm just like you

The crowd applauds.

Table 1-

Stefan: Dr. Hardy, your act was... Very... Entertaining.

Tom: Thank you Mr. Cassadine.

Amy: I thought it was terrific. Can you believe A.J. Quartermaine

brought Carly or Caroline or whatever the heck she calls herself, I just

can't believe it.

Audrey: Amy.

Amy: I don't understand why she didn't tell Bobbie that she was her

daughter.

Alexis: I'm sure it's a very long and complicated story.

Table 3-

Steve: Well cus, pretty interesting thing you did up there.

Lucky: Yeah, thanks. Um, will you excuse me?

Luke: Sure. The hormones are on the run.

Table 5-

Paul: I think we're sitting at the most talented table in this place.

Lois: No kidding. Angela, what do you think about singing

professionally.

Angela: As a sole profession?

Ned: Actually, she's probably thinking of this as something you could do

on the side.

A: I think it would be terrific.

J: So Lois, are you going to come up with some clever name for her.

Nicole: Yeah, where did "Eddie Maine" come from?

L: That's a long story.

Ned: A very long and complicated story.

Table 7-

Jason: I can't believe I let you talk me in to that.

Robin: Are you sure Lucy didn't do most of the talking?

Sonny: Yeah, I'm sure that had something to do with it.

Brenda: She tends to have that power over anyone.

Scene 5-Lucy comes back out to introduce the next part of the evening.

L: And now, for our key note speaker, a young woman, who we have had the

privilege of watching grow up, Ms Robin Scorpio.

Robin comes up to the stage.

R: Thank you. And, thanks to all of you. Especially, Jax, for funding

this event. I'm glad I decided to return home, because the people of

Port Charles truly have a heart. You give your time, talent, energy, and

money. And in return, people like me who are HIV positive or those that

have the AIDS virus are getting hope. To me, the Nurses Ball will always

be about hope. I'm sure to some, it's a night to get dressed up and go

out and be entertained, but it's so much more. Most of you get up in the

morning, because you have to. I get up, because I have the hope of

surviving for me, for my uncle Mac, for Jason, for my friends, for all

of you, for Jon Hanley, and for Stone.

Stone's quilt panel.

Part 79-The Nurses Ball continues.

Scene 1-Emily and Lucky are at the doorway of the Versailles Room. They

walk to the couch and sit.

E: You know, Robin's such a great speaker.

L: Yeah. Made me think about Stone.

E: Yeah, I didn't know him that well, but he seemed like such a great

person.

L: (Thinking back to when Stone helped him with his go cart.) Yeah, he

was. (Changing the subject.) Um, hey, so my cousin tells me the two of

you knew each other back in Arizona.

E: Yeah, I was the little girl who used to follow him all over. I

thought he was so cool.

L: Hey, do you think anyone would notice if we left? We could go to the

lake.

E: Actually, I can't leave. Ned wants to introduce me to this Nicole

girl after the ball is over.

L: Ok, then we'll just have to wait 'til this over. Why don't you sit at

my table?

E: One word: Edward. But I think grandmother would love for you to sit

at our table, and so would I.

L: You're on.

Scene 2-Lucy comes out to the applause of everyone.

L: And now for a little disco number. We have our talented DA Dara

Jenson on the mike singing "I Will Survive," as Ms. Caroline Benson

dances with Dr. Jerry Cunningham.

Lyrics:

First I was afraid, I was petrified

Kept thinkin' I could never live with out you by my side (A.J. watches

Carly intensely.)

But then I spent so many nights thinkin' how you did me wrong, and I

grew strong

And I learned how to get along

And now you're back

>From outer space

I just walked into to see you with that sad look upon your face

I should have changed that stupid lock

I should have thrown away that key

If I'd known that you'd be back to bother me

Go on now, go, walk out the door

Just turn around now

'Cause you're not welcome anymore

Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with good-byes?

Did you think I'd crumble?

Did you think I'd lay down and die?

No, now I will survive

Oh, as long as I know how to love

I know I'll stay alive

I will survive I will survive

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart

Just trying to mend the pieces of my broken heart

And I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself

I used to cry

But now I hold my head up high

You see me somebody new, I'm not that chained up little person still in

love with you

And so you felt like dropping in and you just expect me to be free, and

now I'm saving my lovin' for someone who's lovin' me

Weren't you the one who tried to break me with good-byes

Did you think I'd crumble?

Did you think I'd lay down and die?

I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give

I will survive I will survive

I've got all my life to live

I've got all my love to give

I will survive I will survive (Intense applause.)

Table 2-Carly isn't at the table, Lucky is there.

Edward: That DA sure has a great voice.

Justus: No kidding. Um, will you excuse me?

Justus leaves.

Lucky: My cousin's a pretty good dancer, too.

A.J.: (Smiling.) Yeah, she is.

Lila: Lucky, I'm glad you joined us.

Lucky: It's my pleasure. Especially, since I have the honor of sitting

with the three most beautiful women in town.

Lila: (Smiling.) Thank you, Lucky.

Monica: Yes, thank you.

Emily: Flattery will only get you so far.

Emily kisses him on the lips. Alan and Monica have the concerned parent

look on their faces.

Table 4-

Serena: Daddy, did you use to dance like that?

Scott: You mean disco dancing?

Serena: Yeah, whatever that was.

Scott: Well... I guess, I'm guilty.

Lee: Serena, we'll have to show you some pictures of your father when he

was young.

Kevin and Mac laugh.

Scott: Hey, I was a pretty handsome guy and I still am.

Table 6-Karen and Joe have left.

Chris: The seventies, ah, many moons ago.

Eve: The Brady Bunch.

Julie: Oh, I loved that show.

E: How did I know that? I suppose your family was just like the Bradys.

Julie: Sort of, I guess.

E: Well, weren't you the lucky one?

Julie: Um, you'll have to excuse me.

Julie leaves.

Jake: Another one bites the dust because of Eve?

Matt: I think she's on duty.

C: (In Eve's ear, mocking the Brady Bunch's Jan.) Julie! Julie! Julie!

Scene 3-Joe and Karen are the hall outside the Versailles Room. Karen's

looking at Stone's quilt panel.

J: So, Stone was pretty special to you?

K: Yeah, he was. I'm sorry that Jagger and I couldn't spend the last few

months of Stone's life with him. (Starts to cry.) I've felt ever since

his death, that we let him down.

Karen puts her head on Joe's shoulder. Robin comes out.

R: Karen, you never let him down. He knew you and Jagger loved him. And,

that's what he needed.

Karen goes to Robin and hugs her.

Scene 4-Backstage, Lucy is trying to get into one of her many beautiful

gowns.

L: Ok, everything is running smooth, it's going fine, wonderful,

terrific. Maybe if I keep telling myself that, I'll save myself the

usual embarrassment that happens at the end of the night. (Katherine who

has been listening at the door snickers.) Kathy, what are you doing

here?

K: I was just on my way to the restroom. What are you trying to do, take

that outfit off or put it on?

L: It's really none of your business. But for your information, I was

putting it on.

K: If you need any help, you know I'm glad to help.

L: Like I would ask for your help.

K: Don't say I never offered.

Scene 5-Lucy comes out to the stage to the applause of many.

L: And for our next act, the very talented and very handsome Dr. Alan

Quartermaine with "What a Difference a Day Makes."

Lyrics:

What a difference a day made, twenty-four little hours (Angela looks at

Ned then Nicole.)

Brought the sun and the flowers

Where there used to be rain (Lucky and Emily are looking into each

others eyes.)

My yesterday was blue dear

Today I'm part of you dear

My lonely nights are through dear

Since you said you were mine

What a difference a day makes

There's a rainbow before me

Skies above can't be stormy

Since that moment of bliss

That thrilling kiss (Luke and Laura kiss.)

It's heaven when you find romance on your menu

What a difference a day made and the difference is you

There's intense applaud. Lucy comes out.

L: Wow that was terrific, the very handsome and very talented Dr. Alan

Quartermaine. (Alan takes a bow and then goes to his table.) We're going

to have a short intermission for our performers in the final big number

to get ready. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves, or maybe even dance.

Table 1-The band's playing a slow dance song.

Tom: Well, Alexis, would you do the honor of allowing me to have this

dance?

Alexis: I'd love to.

They get up and dance.

Amy: Um, Stefan, Audrey will the two of you excuse me?

Stefan: Of course.

Amy leaves.

Audrey: What's she up to?

Stefan: I have a feeling that Ms. Vining is going to spread the, um, do

you say, gossip?

Table 3-

Luke: Hmmm... Doc Hardy is dancing with the female Cassadine.

Laura: I think Alexis is cut from a different cloth than Stefan.

Luke: Maybe, maybe she has a conscience.

Lesley: That lady who's dancing with Tom, I remember her.

Rick: What about her?

Lesley: I saw her when I was in Switzerland. Her and another girl, I

think they were sisters.

Luke: Sisters? Do you remember this other girl's name?

Lesley: Mary? Marcie? Marly? Yeah, she called the girl Marly.

R: Marly?

Table 5-

Ned: Well, Nicole, why don't we go over to my family's table and you can

meet my cousin and her boyfriend.

Lois: Actually, looks like she can meet both your cousins.

Nicole: Both?

Ned: Yeah, A.J.'s Emily's brother.

They get up and go over.

L: Jax, how are things?

Jax: Pretty good, I guess.

L: Did you and Angela figure out that secret of Miranda's?

J: (Looks at Angela.) Almost.

Angela: Since you aren't going to ask, I guess I have to. Paul, would

you like to dance?

Paul: No fair, you know I'm not that good of a dancer. Especially in

public, and when I don't know that many people.

A: Come on.

Angela drags him to the dance floor.

J: She seems like a pretty controlling woman.

L: Yeah. I have a feeling that her daughters father isn't dead.

J: Really? Why do you think that?

Table 7-

Jason: Where'd Robin go?

Nikolas: (Points to the hall.) She's out there with two of the interns.

J: (Gets up.) Thanks. (Goes to the hall.)

Brenda: Must be Karen. Wonder who the other one is.
