Scene 1-Frank and Julie are at The Recovery Room, having a few drinks.

Frank: How was the service?

Julie: Touching. It made me realize something.

Frank: What?

Julie: Life is too short.

Frank: So?

Julie: I think I need to get to know Dr. Quartermaine, my father.

Scene 2-Emily, Lucky, Nick, Steve, Sly, and Nicole are at the

Quartermaine mansion

Emily: Nicole, have you met Lucky's brother, Nickolas.

Nicole: No, I don't think I have.

Nick: Hello. I'm sorry about your mother.

Nicole: Thank you.

Lois comes out to the hall.

Lois: Nicole.

Nicole: Yes.

Lois: I have something for you.

Lois hands Nicole a CD.

Nicole: What is it?

Lois: A few weeks ago, your mom and I went into the recording studio.

It's a few of the songs we recorded. She said they were your favorites.

Nicole: Thanks.

Lois hugs Nicole, and leaves.

Sly: Do you wanna listen to that now?

Nicole: Yeah, I do.

Lucky: You probably want to be alone.

Nicole: Yes please.

Emily: You can use my room.

Nicole goes upstairs.

Scene 3-Tom and Lesley are in Tom's office.

Lesley: What is it Tom?

Tom: I was wondering if we could get you back here at the hospital.

Lesley: I'd love it. What would I have to do to make that happen?

Scene 4-Alexis, Jeff, and Rick are in the hall at GH.

Alexis: Where's Lesley?

Rick: She and Tom are discussing something.

Alexis: How is Tom?

Rick: Hanging in. (Alan walks by.) Will you two excuse me?

Jeff: Sure.

Rick follows Alan.

Rick: Alan. (Alan turns.) You've got to believe Monica and me.

Alan punches Rick. Rick falls. Jeff and Alexis run over.

Jeff: Are you ok?

Rick: Yeah.

Alexis: What was that about?

Jeff: I have a guess.

Scene 5-Jake, Katherine, and Rex are at Rex's.

Rex: My niece Katherine meet Dr. Jake Marshak, our ticket to get all the

money we possibly can.

Rex smiles. Jake shakes Katherine's hand.

Scene 6-Julie, Frank, Joe, and Karen are at The Recovery Room.

Karen: I still can't believe Dr. Winters was a WSB agent.

Joe: She was obviously multi-talented-a secret agent, a world renowned

surgeon, and a singer.

Julie: A mother, too.

Frank: A real juggling act.

Karen: Yeah, um, maybe we can get to a less sad topic.

Joe: Yeah we have enough death at the hospital. How about those Giants?

Scene 7-Nicole is in Emily's room listening to a CD. It is Angela

singing the song "The Dance."

Nick is walking by and looks. Nicole sees him.

Scene 8-Rick, Alexis, and Jeff are in the hall.

Jeff: Monica.

Rick: I'm afraid so.

Jeff: Things don't ever change. So, the two of you had another affair.

Rick: No. We've just been accused.

Alexis: You and Monica?

Rick: Yes, I'm surprised your husband didn't tell you, since he was

married to Monica once.

Alexis looks surprised.

Scene 9-Jake, Rex, and Katherine are at Rex's.

Katherine: How is he our ticket?

Rex: This man right here is going to charm Dr. Morris right into wedded

bliss.

Scene 10-Rick, Jeff, and Alexis are in the hall.

Alexis: You were married to Monica?

Jeff: Yes. But, it seems like a lifetime ago.

Lesley and Tom come up.

Rick: So, what did you two talk about?

Lesley: Never mind that. What happened to you?

Jeff: Alan Quartermaine's fist met his face.

Scene 1-Luke, Laura, Nick, Lu, Lucky, Bobbie, Tony, and Lucas are in the

living room in front of the Christmas tree.

Tony: I hope you have fun at the hospital Christmas party.

Laura: We will. I wish you could be there.

Bobbie: Me, too.

Scene 2-Robin, Jason, Robert, Anna, and Brenda are behind Luke's,

waiting for Mike.

Brenda: Come on Mike, we don't want to miss the Christmas party.

Mike: I'm coming, I'm coming.

Mike comes out in a Santa suit. Jason laughs.

Robert: Mike Corbin, Santa Claus?

Mike: Audrey Hardy mentioned the other day when I was in the hospital

getting my check up, that they didn't have a Santa for the Christmas

party, so I volunteered.

Robin: It looks great.

Scene 3-Karen, Joe, Julie, and Frank are decorating the hospital room

where the party's going to be.

Frank: Since when do interns decorate?

Julie: Since now.

Joe: By the way, Frank, you're not an intern.

Frank: Good point.

Karen: We thought we'd do something nice for the hospital after what's

happened the last couple of weeks.

Tom comes in.

Tom: It looks great. Thanks.

Joe: No problem, Dr. Hardy.

Tom: Now, I want you all to stop, so you can enjoy the festivities.

Karen: Thank you Dr. Hardy.

Tom leaves. Frank's beeper goes off.

Frank: I've got to go.

Scene 4-The GH party is about to begin. The Spencers, Robin, Jason,

Scorpios, Brenda, Mike, Quartermaines, Joneses, Karen, Kevin, Lucy, Jax,

Julie, Joe, Baldwins, Julia, Carly, Katherine, Webbers, Eve, Chris, Rex,

Jeremy, Matt, Amy, Ellen, Jake, and Hardys. There are a lot of children

seated on the floor. Alan and Monica see each other and walk towards

each other.

Monica: If you and I can get along for a day, I know Emily would want

you at the house for Christmas.

Alan: I'd love to spend Christmas with her.

Monica: Good.

Tom goes up to the chair to the front of the room to tell the Christmas

story.

Tom: This is the story of the first Christmas ever. It was a dark, cold,

windy night and this young couple was traveling to Bethlehem. The man

was a carpenter and his name was Joseph. His wife's name was Mary. Mary

was going to have a baby. They were very poor, but they had a donkey.

So, Mary rode the donkey and Joseph walked beside her. In the distance,

Joseph saw the light of an inn. He wanted to protect Mary, Mary was

tired. So, Joseph went to the inn, the inn keeper could tell he had no

money so he told him there was no room at the inn. Joseph saw the

stables, so he took Mary to the stables. It was full of animals, and it

was warm. All the animals made room for Mary. Joseph made her a bed with

hay and there was a hush over the stables. In the silence, a baby was

born and they named him Jesus. He grew up teaching across the world. He

taught the people God loves all of us, and we all have the potential for

good. We should love each other, understand each other, and forgive each

other.

Scene 5-Rex goes to Tom at the party.

R: I'd like to make a donation to the hospital. (Announce to everyone.)

I realize the Cassadines are responsible for the financial backing of

this hospital, but I'd like to make a donation. Five million dollars.

Rex hands Tom the check. Everyone is amazed.

Scene 6-Justus and Dara are in front of the fireplace at the

Quartermaine mansion.

Dara: This is beautiful.

Justus: You're beautiful.

Justus kisses Dara.

Dara: Be careful, I might begin to like this.

Justus: Oh, I hope you do.

Dara: What about your family?

Justus: They are at some Christmas party at the hospital.

Dara: What about the staff?

Justus: Reginald's busy setting up the train in the other room. The rest

of the staff has the evening off. But, if you are really worried about

getting caught... We could stop.

Dara: No.

Justus: Or we could go up to my room, there's a fireplace up there.

Dara: I think that would be a good idea.

Scene 7-Ned, Lois, Nicole, and Brooke are at the gatehouse. Lois is

playing with some toys with Brooke. Nicole's staring out the window. She

watches the snow. Ned sings "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Various scenes around town are shown: -Nick at the hospital playing with

Lu. -Lucky and Emily walking out the hospital, and watching the snow.

Alan and Monica come out separately and stop behind the two. -Luke and

Laura starting up the car, and look deep in each others' eyes and kiss.

-Brenda, Mike, Robin, Robert, Jason, Anna, Felicia, Mac, Lucy, Kevin,

and Scott stand together, laughing. -A.J. stares at the tree set up at

the Quartermaine mansion. He sees Jason's ornament and sighs. Carly

comes in. -Karen and Joe sled down the hill behind the Scanlons. They

fall out and laugh, then they kiss. -Jax and Julia are at the Port

Charles Grill, enjoying dinner. Jax looks in her eyes and they smile.

-Julie thinks about Frank, and Jake comes from behind with his arm on

her shoulder, and startles her. -Dara and Justus are in his room at the

Quartermaine mansion, they lie in bed kissing, and look out the window

to the snow. -Serena, Georgie, Maxie, and Tommy are outside of the

hospital making a snow man. -Tom stares out a window at the hospital,

sad.

Scene 8-Katherine and Rex are at Rex's.

Katherine: How come you donated all that money? Aren't we trying to get

money?

Rex: Please, you know better, I have to keep up my appearance of being

independently wealthy. Plus Katherine, I thought you had money.

Katherine: Yes, I did. But, that supply is dwindling.

Rex: Well, I guess we better get on the ball then.

Scene 9-Carly and A.J. are in the Quartermaine living room. A.J.'s

staring at Jason's ornament.

Carly: Something wrong?

A.J.: (Startled.) Um, no, nothing.

Carly: A.J., I've been putting off telling you this, but I think since

we are alone now, I could tell you.

A.J.: Sure, go ahead.

Carly: I'm moving out. I'm moving to Kelly's. Luke is going to let my

have run of the place.

Scene 10-Emily and Lucky walk into Kelly's.

Lucky: Emily, I have something for you.

Emily: I have something for you, too.

Lucky: Me first.

Emily: Ok. (He pulls out a ring box and hands it to Emily. She opens

it.) It's beautiful. (She notices he has another box in his hand. He

hands it to her. She opens it. It's a little charm, shaped like a

cactus.)

Lucky: I know you and Lois bought those charm bracelets, and I thought

this was the first one I should get you. To remind you of our adventure

and the cactus I got you for your first birthday in Port Charles.

Emily: Thank you. (Hugs him.) That cactus is sitting in the corner of my

room. Here you are. (Hands him a box. He opens it.) I hope you like it.

Lucky: Emily... (Holds up a black leather jacket.) I love it.

They kiss. Lucky hits the juke box and the Mariah Carey song "All I want

for Christmas" plays.

Scene 1-At the Quartermaine mansion, A.J. and Edward are in the hall in

their tuxes.

Edward: A.J., did you invite all of the stockholders?

A.J.: Yes, excluding Cassadine, of course.

Edward: Good, hopefully there will be a time when that stock comes back

into the family.

Scene 2-Laura, Luke, Robin, Jason, Robert, Anna, Lucky, and Nick are at

Luke's.

Robert: When does this party get rolling?

Luke: Soon pal, soon.

Scene 3-At the Brownstone; Mac, Felicia, Georgie, Maxie, Tommy, Tom,

Simone, and Serena are there.

Mac: Four kids, four adults, this could be an interesting night.

Felicia: Yes, it could.

Mac: Felicia, once the holidays are finally over you'll have to tell me

what really happened in Texas.

Scene 4-At GH, Jeremy goes up to the roof and finds Lesley there.

Jeremy: This is a nice surprise.

Jeremy cuddles up to Lesley.

Lesley: No, this is a new year and I want a fresh start, with my

husband.

Jeremy: Even if your husband cheated on you, too.

Scene 5-At the Quartermaine mansion; Alan, Monica, A.J., Lucy, Kevin,

Scott, Carly, Ned, Justus, Dara, Edward, and Lila are gathered.

Lila: I'm glad you decided to come.

Alan: Me too, mother.

Scott: What's this all about?

Ned: I was wondering the same thing.

Edward: This party is not only to celebrate the new year, but the

quarterly reports. ELQ's profits have increased seventy percent.

Scene 6-At Luke's, Mike comes strolling in.

Luke: Now, the party starts.

"This is Your Night" by Amber plays. As Mike pours drinks, and everyone

dances. Lucky and Nick just watch.

Scene 7-At the gatehouse; Lois, Brenda, and Brooke are in the living

room. Brenda's is staring at Brooke.

Lois: You'll be having one of your own soon.

Brenda: I know and I'm scared.

Lois: That's understandable.

Brenda: (Crying.) I don't want to have to raise this child alone.

Scene 8-At the Brownstone, Felicia and Mac are in the living room, as

the others are enjoying the food and music.

Felicia: I already told you I don't remember.

Mac: I know, but I have the feeling there's more to the story.

Scene 9-At the GH roof, Jeremy and Lesley are there.

Lesley: What are you talking about?

Jeremy: He and Monica have been having an affair for a long time. For

thirteen years, in fact, every year they'd meet up at the cardiologists'

convention in Florida and have a rendezvous.

Lesley: He thought I was dead.

Jeremy: Yes, but they were planning it this year, until that shooting at

Luke's.

Scene 10-"Auld Lang Sine" plays, as these scenes are shown.

-At the Quartermaie mansion-Carly and A.J. kiss. Edward and Lila kiss.

Justus and Dara kiss. Kevin and Lucy kiss, as Scott stares. Ned looks

out the window. -At Luke's-Mike, Nick, and Lucky look on as Jason and

Robin, Luke and Laura, and Robert and Anna kiss. -At the Brownstone-Mac

and Felicia kiss. Simone and Tom hug. The kids run around the living

room, blowing little toy horns, yelling "Happy New Year!"

Scene 1-Katherine walks in Rex's.

Katherine: Why did you call me here now?

Scene 2-Lesley goes in Jeremy's office.

Jeremy: Hello Lesley. Can I help you?

Lesley: Yes, I'd like to know how you found out about what you told me

the other day.

Scene 3-Mac shows up at the Brownstone. Felicia comes to the door.

Mac: Ok, now you're going to tell me what happened to you in Texas.

Scene 4-Brenda has Lois, Ned, Edward, and Lila in the Quartermaine

living room.

Ned: Ok, we're all here.

Brenda: I want all of you to know I'm grateful to you for allowing me to

stay here, but I think it's time to go.

Scene 5-Carly and A.J. walk in Kelly's with boxes.

A.J.: Are you sure you can handle running the place and living here?

Carly: Of course I can. Lucky and Nick will help me run the place. And,

I won't be living here alone. Brenda Barrett's going to live here, and

I'm sure Robin will demand Jason have guards surrounding the place to be

safe.

A.J.: Ok, then I guess you'll be ok handling this and your PT work at

GH.

Scene 6-Paul and Amy are in the GH cafeteria.

Paul: Amy, this is really hard.

Amy: You're leaving?

Paul: Yes.

Scene 7-Julie knocks on Alan's office door. Julie walks in. Julie and

Alan look at each other, not knowing what to say.

Scene 8-Joe and Frank bump into each other in the GH hall.

Joe: I just Julie going into Dr. Quartermaines office, what is she

planning to do?

Frank: I think she wants to get to know her father.

Karen comes along.

Karen: Hello you two. Um, Joe, can you double check this patient's chart

for me?

Joe: (Takes it.) Sure.

Karen looks at both of them.

Karen: What were you two talking about?

Frank: Nothing. I should be going.

Frank leaves.

Karen: Ok. What's up?

Joe: (Looking innocent.) Nothing.

Scene 9-At Wyndham's, a sales clerk comes out with a beautiful gold

bracelet.

Clerk: Here you are young man.

Sly: Thank you. I think she'll like it.

Scene 10-Alexis and Jeff are at their house.

Alexis: How come you never told me you were married to Monica

Quartermaine?

Jeff: For one, I didn't know it was all that important.

Alexis: It isn't, I just would have liked to have had some advance

warning before your brother brought it up.

Jeff: Ok, I'm sorry. And, secondly, at the time she wasn't Monica

Quartermaine.

Alexis: Ha ha. Very funny.

Jeff: Ally, I have to get to the hospital. (They kiss.) I love you.

Alexis: I love you, too.

Jeff leaves.

Part 179

Scene 1-Justus and Dara are in bed. Justus kisses Dara. She wakes.

Justus: Good morning.

Dara looks at the clock and springs out of bed.

Dara: I'm supposed to be in court in an hour. I can't believe you let me

sleep so late.

Dara looks right at Justus. Justus stares right in her eyes.

Justus: Dara, I love you.

Dara stops getting dressed and stands there like a statute, not knowing

what to say.

Scene 2-Katherine and Rex are at Rex's.

Rex: I called you here because it looks like Dr. Morris secret is going

to be spread, and what better way than nurse Amy Vining?

Katherine: Are you sure it's going to happen that way?

Rex: I've pretty much guaranteed it, as long as Amy and Paul's breakup

doesn't take too long.

Katherine: What? How do you know all of this?

Rex: I have my ways.

Scene 3-Jeremy and Lesley are in Jeremy's office.

Jeremy: The reason I know about Rick's affair with Monica is because I

had a very good friend at those conventions.

Lesley: How'd you know about their plans for this year?

Jeremy: Someone placed a taped conversation between the two of them in

my mailbox here.

Scene 4-Mac and Felicia are at the Brownstone.

Mac: Felicia, tell me what happened.

Felicia: Ok, I'll tell you everything I remember. Maxie told me about

this burial ground she found. I went out there for a horseback ride to

check it out.

Mac: Yeah. And, then what?

Felicia: There's where I draw a blank.

Mac: You don't remember anything?

Felicia: No.

Mac: Not even losing this.

Mac holds up a ring.

Scene 5-A.J. and Carly are at Kelly's.

Carly: A.J., I had to quit my P.T. job to get this place started back

up.

A.J.: Oh, I see.

Brenda comes in.

Brenda: A.J., Carly. (Jason follows her with a heavy box.) Jason, you

can take that upstairs.

Carly: First door on the right.

Jason goes up.

Brenda: (Yells.) Thanks Jason.

Carly: A.J., you better get back home for your sister's party.

A.J.: You're right. Are you going to be able to make it?

Carly: I'll try.

A.J.: Brenda?

Brenda: No, I don't think I'll be able to make it.

A.J.: Will you ask Jason to come?

Brenda: Yes. And, I'll guarantee he and Robin will stop by.

A.J.: Thanks.

A.J. leaves.

Brenda: Carly, how are things between you and A.J.?

Scene 6-Reginald comes in the Quartermaine living room, Nicole and Lois

are decorating.

Nicole: I hope Emily enjoys this party.

Lois: We could all use this party tonight.

Reginald: Excuse me.

Nicole and Lois turn.

Lois: Hi Reg.

Reginald: There's a Paul Simmons out in the hall, for you Ms. Nicole.

Lois: Paul Simmons?

Scene 7-Dara and Justus are at the Port Charles Grill.

Justus: How come you keep looking at me like that? Dara, I really meant

what I said this morning.

Dara: I'm beginning to realize that and I want you to know that I love

you, too.

Justus: You know what?

Dara: What?

Justus: That's the best news I've heard in a long time.

Justus kisses Dara.

Dara: Well, you know what? We better hurry if we are going to make it to

that party.

Justus: Oh yes, the birthday party.

Scene 8-Julie is leaving Alan's office, as Amy comes along. Amy seems

upset, but notices Julie walking out. Amy walks in the office.

Alan: Hello Amy, what can I do for you?

Amy: Um, your patient in 620 wanted to talk to you.

Alan: Anything else?

Amy: Um, was that Julie I just saw leave?

Alan: Yes. She's having a family problem and wanted some guidance.

Amy: Oh.

Amy walks out with a questioning expression.

Scene 9-Jeremy and Lesley have finished listening to the taped

conversation between Rick and Monica.

Lesley: How did you get this tape?

Jeremy: Like I said, someone put it in my mailbox at the hospital.

Lesley: Who would have done that?

Jeremy: I doubt we'll ever answer that question, what I want to know is

what you're going to do about it?

Scene 10-Paul and Nicole are in the Quartermaine hall.

Nicole: Hi Paul. What are you doing here?

Paul: I came to say goodbye.

Nicole: Goodbye?

Paul: I'm leaving.

Nicole: Because of mom?

Paul: Yeah, I miss her.

Nicole: What about the team?

Paul: I've asked to be traded. Until I am, I'm going back to Canada.

Here's my number. (Hands a piece of paper.) You can call me anytime. I

love you.

Paul hugs her.

Nicole: Bye.

Paul: Goodbye.

Paul walks out, as Ned walks in.

Part 180

Scene 1-At the Quartermaine mansion, it is Emily's birthday party.

Edward, Lila, Nicole, Lois, Ned, Alan, Monica, Dara, Justus, Lucky, Sly,

and Emily are in the living room. Alan and Monica are on opposite sides

of the room. Emily, Sly, Lucky, and Nicole are by the table, eating some

chips and drinking soda.

Lucky: You know I'm kind of surprised that I was allowed back in the

house after the last couple of fiascoes.

Emily: Nicole made the guest list and Lois insisted that everyone show

up, but they aren't all here, yet.

Sly: I'm sure they'll show.

Emily: Yeah.

Lois, Ned, and Monica are on one side of the room.

Lois: I wonder if A.J.'s going to show up.

Ned: He's probably at some bar whooping it up.

Lois: Ned!

Lois slaps Ned on the shoulder.

Alan, Edward, and Lila are on the opposite side of the room.

Lila: Don't you think it's time to open the gifts.

Edward: Well, that'd be a good idea, but Reginald hasn't brought Emily's

gift up to the house, yet.

Dara and Justus are by the window, sipping some champagne. Dara looks

out the window.

Justus: What are you looking at out there?

Dara: The most incredible car.

Justus: Sh... I think that's Emily's birthday present.

Dara: A BMW for a sixteen year-old?

Justus: Yeah, crazy, ain't it? But, wouldn't you have loved to have

grown up with all this money?

Scene 2-At Kelly's, Carly and Brenda are at a table.

Carly: Things between me and A.J. are pretty good. Although, he's a

little upset that I'm moving out.

Brenda: Then why did you?

Carly: The Quartermaines can be a little suffocating.

Jason comes downstairs.

Jason: Yeah, they can. Well, I'm going.

Brenda: Wait Jason.

Jason: Yeah?

Brenda: A.J. asked me to invite you to Emily's birthday party. And I

promised him that you and Robin would stop by.

Jason: At the Quartermaines?

Brenda: Yeah.

Carly: Jason, if you're going to go out there, could you give me a ride

out there, too?

Jason: Yes. But I have to pick up Robin.

Carly: Ok.

Jason: (To Brenda.) You'll be ok alone here?

Brenda: Sure.

Scene 3-At the Spencers, Luke and Laura are at the door. Luke is about

to leave.

Luke: I'm going to go to the club and check things out. I shouldn't be

gone long. (Opens the door, and Lesley comes in.) Hello Les, I was just

on my way out.

Lesley: I think Rick's having an affair with Monica.

Scene 4-Robert and Anna are at Jason and Robin's.

Robert: So, Cassadine is gone and his mother is running the hospital. It

doesn't add up.

Anna: He must have a back up plan.

Robert: So, you think he's nearby?

Anna: Yes.

Stefan in a house, he just heard the last statement via a bug.

Stefan: Yes, in fact, I'm just outside of town.

Scene 5-At the Brownstone, Mac and Felicia are together at Felicia's.

Mac is holding up Felicia's ring.

Felicia: I don't know how I lost the ring. I never take it off. The only

time I ever parted with it was when it was stolen and that's how I

landed in Port Charles.

Mac: Ah, this is the famous Aztec ring. Maybe somebody was after it.

Scene 6-At the Quartermaine mansion; Edward, Lila, Nicole, Ned, Alan,

Monica, Dara, Justus, Lucky, Sly, Emily, and Steve are there. Dara and

Justus are by the window.

Dara: Actually, I don't think I would want to grow up with money if it

meant having to go through everything Emily did.

Emily, Lucky, Sly, and Nicole are munching on chips. Steve comes over.

Steve: Hello all.

Emily: I'm glad you could make it.

Steve: I wouldn't miss this for the world.

Scene 7-Lesley, Luke, and Laura are at the Spencers.

Laura: Did he finally tell you?

Lesley: You knew?

Luke: Lesley, A.J. Quartermaine made some sort of statement about his

mother and Rick and an affair at that dinner that we went to.

Lesley: Rick told me about that. And, he told me it wasn't true. But, I

found out from someone at the hospital that the two of them have been

meeting up once every year for a little fling. And, this person had a

taped conversation of the two of them discussing getting together this

year at the cardiologist's convention, a convention that both Rick and

Monica planned to go to this year.

Scene 8-Robert and Anna are at Jason's. Anna gets off the phone.

Robert: The bureau?

Anna: Yes. They tracked him to a house outside of town and he's been in

contact with Dr. Walsh in New York.

Robert: And he knows what the plans are?

Anna: Yes.

Scene 9-Mac and Felicia are at Felicia's.

Felicia: Who would want my ring?

Mac: I don't know, but I think we should find out.

Scene 10-At the Quartermaine mansion; Edward, Lila, Alan, Monica, Ned,

Lois, Nicole, Dara, Justus, Emily, Lucky, Sly, Steve, and Nick are

there. Steve is looking at Emily's charm bracelet from Lucky.

Steve: What's the cactus for?

Emily: It's a long story.

Nick: I'd like to hear it.

Lila is talking to Monica.

Lila: Dear, I think it is time for Emily to open her gifts.

Monica: Yes.

Edward: Emily.

Emily: Yes, grandfather.

Jason and Robin appear in the door. Emily smiles.

Scene 1-At the Quartermaine mansion; Edward, Lila, Alan, Monica, Jason,

Robin, Ned, Lois, Nicole, Steve, Sly, Nick, Emily, Lucky, Dara, and

Justus are there. Emily runs to Jason.

Emily: Hi Jason, Robin.

Jason: We can't stay long.

Emily: I understand. (Jason hands her a box.) What is it?

Robin: Open it.

Emily opens it to find Jason's black leather jacket.

Emily: It's your jacket.

Jason: Yeah, I thought you'd like it. I want you to wear it when you go

outside in the cold to get away from the family and think.

Emily: I will.

Jason: Check the pocket.

Emily digs in the pocket to find a watch.

Emily: Oh, it's gorgeous.

Jason: Robin picked it out.

Emily: Thank you.

Emily hugs them.

Jason: We've gotta go.

Emily: Thanks for coming.

Jason and Robin leave.

Edward: Well, I guess you're ready to open the rest of your presents.

Scene 2-Lucy and Kevin are at the lighthouse. Kevin is reading.

Lucy: Doc, what are you reading?

Kevin: Some information I got form Tom about being reinstated at the

hospital.

Lucy: Really?

Kevin: Yes.

Lucy: That's so great, doc! (Excitedly hugs Kevin. Begins to talk

quietly and seductively.) Um, what do you say we go on up to bed?

Kevin: (Still deep in his reading.) It's awful early and I'm not really

tired, Lucy.

Lucy: (Annoyed.) Sleep wasn't what I was talking about.

Kevin: Oh... (Drops his reading material.) then, I'm ready anytime you

are.

Scene 3-Jax knocks on Julia's door.

Jax: Hi. Jerry just called and one of our factories is threatening to

strike. We're dumping it and cutting our losses. Care to go with me?

Julia: Strictly business, of course?

Jax: Yes, of course.

Julia: (Under her breath.) Darn.

Jax: You were hoping for more?

Scene 4-Carly and Brenda are at a table at Kelly's.

Carly: You are sure you'll be ok?

Brenda: Sure, I'll be fine. But, before you go, would you give this to

Emily?

Brenda hands Carly a small gift box.

Carly: Sure, I'll see you later. Ok?

Brenda: Yeah.

Carly goes outside where on of Jason's cars picks her up.

Scene 5-Julie is at GH, she has just gotten off the phone. Jake walks to

her.

Jake: Something wrong?

Julie: Yeah, Frank had to cancel our plans, again.

Jake: Oh. Well, I'm almost done with this paperwork. You wanna go to

the Recovery Room for a drink?

Julie: Well... sure, but just one.

Jake: That's fine.

Scene 6-At the Quartermaine mansion; Edward, Lila, Alan, Monica, Ned,

Lois, Nicole, Steve, Sly, Nick, Emily, Lucky, Dara, and Justus are

there. They have gone out to the drive to look at Emily's new BMW.

Edward: (Brimming with pleasure, hands her the keys.) Happy Birthday.

Emily hugs Edward.

Emily: Thank you grandfather, grandmother. This is the most incredible

birthday.

Edward: Good. Now, why don't you and Nicole and your friends take a spin

around the neighborhood.

Monica: Just don't be gone for too long, you still have other presents

to open. And, uh, and be careful.

Nicole, Steve, Sly, Nick, and Lucky squish in the car. Reginald comes

running out.

Reginald: Drs. Quartermaine, there's an emergency at the hospital.

A.J.'s been taken to GH.

Monica: What?

Emily looks closely at Reginald.

Emily: What is it?

Reginald: They didn't say.

Carly walks up the drive.

Carly: I'm glad I caught you. Happy Birthday Emily. (Carly hands Emily a

box.) Where's A.J.?

Scene 7-Karen, Joe, and Ellen are in ER with A.J.

Karen: I can't believe he has a whole in his heart.

Joe: He's definitely going to need surgery. Maybe a transplant.

Ellen: Dr. Jeff Webber is going to perform the surgery and he has asked

that you two assist.

Karen: Have the Quartermaines been notified?

Ellen: Yes, and I'm sure they're on their way. Now, I have some other

patients to check on.

Ellen leaves. Karen stares at A.J.

Joe: Karen, we better go scrub up.

Karen: Yeah, I'll be there in a minute. (Joe leaves.) A.J., hang in,

we'll do everything to pull you through this.

Scene 8-Jax and Julia are in the front of Jax's plane. Jax is flying.

Jax: Julia, how would you like to land this plane?

Julia: Really? You'll let me land the plane?

Jax: Sure, on one condition.

Julia: And that is?

Jax: You go with me to a place of your choice after this business is

done. What do you say?

Scene 9-Jeff, Karen, and Joe are in the waiting room with Lucky, Sly,

Steve, Nick, Emily, Nicole, Ned, Lois, Edward, Lila, Dara, Justus,

Carly, Alan, and Monica.

Jeff: Monica, Alan, I'm sure you understand how crucial it is that we

get in there right now.

Monica: Yes.

Jeff: We're going to begin as soon as possible. I'll send Joe or Karen

out with an update when there is something to update you about. (Monica

and Alan both look very worried. Jeff take Monica's hand.) I'll do

everything I can.

Monica: Thank you, Jeff. (Jeff, Joe, and Karen leave. Alan looks over at

Monica.) Alan, I'm scared.

Alan takes Monica in his arms. Carly gets on a pay phone and calls the

Spencers. Luke and Laura are in bed, Luke answers.

Carly: (Covered crying.) Can I speak to Bobbie?

Luke: Carly?

Carly: Yeah, get Bobbie.

Luke wakes Tony and Bobbie. Bobbie gets on the phone.

Bobbie: What's wrong?

Carly: A.J.'s in the hospital and they're not sure he's going to make

it.

Scene 10-Julie and Jake are at The Recovery Room having a few drinks,

and laughing. Frank comes in and has some jealousy.

Frank: Julie.

Julie: Oh Frank, finally.

Frank: Julie, I came to tell you something important.

Julie: What? (Julie and Frank go off to the side.) What is it?

Frank: A.J. Quartermaine was brought into ER with a heart problem. They

aren't sure he is going to make it.
